Sisters Journal..
May 25
We are ending the first stage of this album. Basic tracks are all pretty
much down on hard disc, plus some over dubs and a lead vocal. All except
two songs, one I hope to record live and the other is another x-mass song
for the EP I'm preparing for England still have to be put down.
But I think all is finally well. Though I've had my doubts about myself
and my co-workers, and the elements which have been constantly testing me.
The main thing now is that I think this music is really something. I feel
so lucky to be able to put these sounds and people together. I've been amazed
at how gifted everyone up here is. Mark, Jan , and Matt ( mark's assistant
or indentured servant as he has been called), can do so many things. Sometimes
I feel a little simple in comparison.
I have asked Geoff, the man who put the studio together for us to help me
fix the sound in the room. I'm very worried about this. I don't want to
leave here with music that doesn't sound like what I think it sounds like.
How lucky for me Geoff got a hold of this German guy who invented tubes
that are suposed to eat up all the bass rumble. So I'm back to those tubes
again. They were proposed in the begining but I didn't want to lose the
view over the console. I'm so desperate to fix the low end and the low midrange
in this room that I might just let him close up the view. Maybe not the
whole view. I don't know yet. Anyway he's coming. Things are moving along.
Everything is beginning to fall into place. The music is sounding so inventive
and good. I don't mind working so hard. Anyway I've got my Louise Hay tapes,
( I love you too Louise). It's gonna be fine.
I haven't found a manager yet, but I guess I'll blow that bridge up when
I get there. Maybe there's something to what my buddy Louise says "
I will attract the right people into my life.. Things are settling down.
Everyone has off for the next 3 days. They deserve it. They worked hard..
And at times it is a bit like Faulty Towers here,..I found myself driving
an air conditioner up here, after pulling it out of my living room in Manhattan
That was on the hilarious side. I felt like I should be saying, "Manuel
I am on my way"! Que???
All is well. I get to have off too.
peace to you,
Cyn
